Electrotherapy

Electrical stimulation, or electrotherapy, can be subdivided into different types: such as interferential current, microcurrent, and variable muscle stimulus. Electrotherapy treatment promotes the release of the body's endorphins and natural pain killers to relieve pain.

Electrotherapy is used to treat the following symptoms: pain, spasm, edema and muscle weakness. In treating pain, chiropractic adjustment is used along with electrotherapy. Electrotherapy is also used to promote soft tissue healing. Ligament and muscle strains and spasms often respond well to this treatment. Overall results are generally decreased swelling of the affected area, increased muscle tone, the promotion of the body's ability to heal itself, and a feeling of well-being.

Electrotherapy is a very safe, drug-free treatment option with no known side effects.
